Arrow Electrical completed a full electrical upgrade and refurbishment project at a Halfords Autocentre in Wolverhampton. Our team upgraded the workshop's electrical infrastructure to support the refurbishment and ongoing operation of the facility. The project included the installation of a new mains distribution board, power supplies for MOT bays and vehicle lifts, a new CCTV system, and cable containment throughout the workshop.

Planning

Our team worked closely with the project management to plan the project around the operational requirements of the workshop. Before work began, we carried out a detailed site survey to assess the existing electrical infrastructure and identify the most effective routes for new cabling. We also designed a cable containment system that would provide safe and organised cable management across the workshop. This early planning helped us complete the installation efficiently while minimising disruption to the refurbishment programme.

The challenge

The project required multiple electrical systems to be upgraded and installed within an active commercial vehicle servicing environment. Our engineers needed to coordinate the installation of new power supplies, containment systems and CCTV infrastructure while working alongside other contractors involved in the refurbishment. The team also had to ensure the electrical infrastructure could safely support the power demands of the MOT testing bays and vehicle lifts. Through careful coordination and effective project management, we maintained progress and kept the installation on schedule.

Solution

Our team delivered a complete electrical upgrade across the workshop. Our engineers installed a new mains distribution board and provided dedicated power supplies to the MOT bays and vehicle lifts. We also installed new cable tray systems throughout the facility, creating safe and efficient routes for power and data cabling. As part of the refurbishment, our team fitted a new CCTV system to improve site security and provide enhanced coverage throughout the workshop.

The upgraded electrical infrastructure now provides reliable power distribution for the workshop's equipment and testing facilities, while the new CCTV system delivers improved security and monitoring capabilities.
