Eastgate Square Shopping Centre Chester
Client: The Martin Group
Arrow Electrical designed and delivered a complete electrical infrastructure upgrade for a retail unit within Eastgate Square Shopping Centre in Chester. Our team removed the existing electrical supply, data cabling and redundant cable tray systems before installing a new 80A three-phase supply with neutral and earth connections. The new infrastructure provided the power capacity required for the refurbishment and future operation of the retail space.
Planning
Our team planned the project well before the start date to ensure an efficient installation with minimal disruption to the wider shopping centre redevelopment. Using existing site drawings, we identified the most practical routes for the new electrical supply. Before work began, our project managers reviewed every route with the installation team, helping us maintain high standards of safety, quality and efficiency throughout the project.
The challenge
The existing electrical installation no longer met the requirements of the refurbished retail unit. The ageing system reduced efficiency and limited the capacity needed to support the incoming tenant. At the same time, several contractors worked across the refurbishment programme. Our team therefore coordinated the installation in carefully managed phases, allowing each trade to complete its work without unnecessary delays. We allocated three days to each phase and set an overall project target of two weeks.
Solution
Arrow Electrical completed a full strip-out of the existing infrastructure and installed a new 80A three-phase power supply. Our engineers worked closely with site management and other contractors throughout the project. This collaborative approach helped us maintain progress, avoid conflicts between trades and keep the programme on schedule.
completion
Our engineers completed the installation on time and within budget. The team commissioned the new electrical infrastructure without complications or delays, giving the incoming store occupants access to a safe and reliable power supply ahead of their planned fit-out dates.
